What impact does an Honor Flight Central Florida Flight Mission have on our Honored Veterans?

We are always eager and grateful to hear about how our Flight Missions impact those Veterans we have the opportunity to Honor. We received the below comments from the loved ones (and Guardians) of Veterans that joined us on our September 12 Mission just a week ago. It’s really fulfilling to get feedback like this, and know they enjoyed the tribute we strive for :

“I just wanted to send you a huge “THANK YOU” for getting my father on the most recent Honor Flight trip. My dad is a very low key person so it’s hard to tell when he is excited, even my husband asked me if we would be able to tell if he really had a good time or not. Well I have to say that I haven’t seen my dad that excited about anything in years. He was “normal” when he left in AM but when he came home, and I saw the impressive welcome in Orlando Airport, the faces on all of the men was incredible. Once I saw my father and that he was beaming with such a smile we didn’t have to ask if he had a good time. It was like a new breath of life was instilled in him, his voice was stronger and he couldn’t stop talking about every aspect of it. He said that was the best day he has had in his life. After being in the war and involved with VFW or American Legion for so many years and doing so much he never was thanked for what he did and to be treated as a VIP all day really made his life and day special. It was surely a pleasurable experience that will last him a lifetime. I can’t really thank you enough”. Barbara Smart

“On behalf of my dad, Jacob (Jake) Moyer and myself, I would like to thank you and your wonderful staff for the opportunity to participate in yesterday’s Honor Flight. My dad described it as “the best day of his life”, and I was personally so thrilled to share this experience with him. The staff, volunteers and BOD of hfcfl do an amazing job, and one that you can tell is done with love and respect for those who have served this wonderful country in times of need. “My husband and I recently went to Washington D.C. with Honor Flight Central Florida, an organization that flies U.S. veterans to the capital to visit the memorials. I just wanted to say thank you for such an outstanding trip. Everyone involved went above and beyond to make sure we had a special day from the volunteers to the servicemen and women, families and children who greeted us at the airport. I would also like to say a special thank you to the Honor Flight paramedics and nurse practitioner who helped me when I was feeling unwell on the plane trip”.
