Honor Flight Central Florida had its first successful flight on June 9th, 2012. We flew 26 WWII Veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their WWII Memorial, Arlington Cemetery’s Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Iwo Jima Memorial, Korean Memorial and Vietnam Memorials. This was a one day trip that everyone will remember.
Along with the 26 WWII Veterans were 26 Guardians, a doctor, videographer and a flight coordinator making a total of 55 people who experienced this day trip together. As we remember our journey in pictures we hope you are able to get a sense of how special this trip really was.
There are three Honor Flight Hubs that fly out of Orlando International Airport, Space Coast Honor Flight out of Melbourne, FL., The Villages Honor Flight out of Lake County and Honor Flight Central Florida serving Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties.
